All the money which gets given to Town Church is spent to fulfil the vision of the church we want to be in Bicester.

A starting point to help us understand what financial giving to Town Church Bicester looks like is this:

God calls us to be good stewards of His good gifts that He has given us and that includes our money.  So that means that all of our money, income, benefits, savings are gifts from God.  It is not our money…it is God’s and we are to be wise in what we do with it.  Part of being a good steward is to give God back a proportion of what is his.  In the Old Testament this was known as tithing - a law to give a tenth of your income back to God.  Because of Jesus fulfilling all that the law required we’re no longer ‘expected’ or ‘required’ to tithe…however now their is a different, more fulfilling reason to give back to God, through the local church, what is His.

Paul in his instruction to the church in Corinth on money says the following.

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  2 Corinthians 9v6-7

So for members, please consider how you might frequently (ideally through a monthly standing order) give to Town Church with a cheerful heart and help finance God’s work in His church.
