Advent Resources for Families

Advent is a wonderful time of year!

We wait with building anticipation, towards the celebration of the arrival of God with us.

Here are some resources and ideas to help families to point to Jesus’ birth this Christmas.

FAMILY NATIVITY

Our family nativity is great to invite friends to, but equally great for our children to be super excited about having fun that is all about Jesus, with friends.

Whatever you do to count down each day in the build up to Christmas, make it an event centred around Jesus.

If you have a nativity set, hide one of the characters for your children to find and add to your nativity scene each day.

Or, make your own Christmas Prayer Paperchain - cut some christmassy paper into strips and decorate with key words, characters or print verses from the Christmas story in Matthew or Luke.

Here’s a couple of other ideas…

The Names of Jesus advent calendar looks great and it helps to think about who Jesus is and why he is wonderful news for the world. Here are some colouring sheets and some activity sheets that your children might enjoy each day.

If you have the Jesus Storybook Bible then this Advent Resource is an easy and simple way to enjoy the Christmas story each day! It gives a reading plan and some free printables and craft ideas.
